Education for All

Ayanna believes in competitive wages for our public school teachers and education justice for all our students. That’s why she has worked in partnership with the teachers’ unions to press for safe working conditions, better pay, and the respect our teachers deserve. She has introduced legislation to address head-on the barriers our students – especially Black girls – face when it comes to discrimination and criminalization in our schools. 

Ayanna has worked closely with our community colleges and secured critical resources to expand access to higher education for families in our district.

Ayanna has spent years pressing for student debt cancellation and, in partnership with Senator Warren, Congressional colleagues, and a dedicated coalition of advocates and borrowers, has effectively secured Presidential action to cancel billions of dollars in debt for millions of borrowers in Massachusetts and across the nation.
