BOSTON — Ayanna Pressley for Congress announced today that the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 103, a labor union representing more than 8,000 workers along with thousands of retirees across Massachusetts, has endorsed her campaign for the 7th Congressional District.

“I am incredibly humbled to have earned the support of Local 103. Their emphasis on providing pathways to the middle class for all their members truly exemplifies the power workers have when they organize,” said Pressley. “Their focus on creating spaces for women and people of color in the trades is a model that has been replicated nationally, and one that I have been proud to support on the Boston City Council. As workers and their unions face increased threats in Washington, I will proudly fight for them in Congress.”

“IBEW Local 103 is proud to endorse Ayanna Pressley in her campaign for the Democratic nomination for the Massachusetts 7th Congressional District. We’re tired of the status quo in Washington D.C. and Ayanna Presley’s campaign is a welcome change,” said Lou Antonellis, Business Manager of IBEW Local 103. “Ayanna has been a great leader on the Boston City Council and will provide the right kind of leadership we need in Washington. We look forward to supporting her campaign fighting for the people of the 7th District.”

“Ayanna has been a great advocate for the working men and women in Boston while serving on the Boston City Council and is someone I am proud to call a friend,” said Kenell Broomstein, Business Agent for IBEW Local 103. “Ayanna has always put the residents of Boston first, and I know she will do the same for the people of the Massachusetts 7th Congressional District. Ayanna is fighting for all of us, and that is something we desperately need in Washington right now.”

Pressley will visit the IBEW 103 training center this afternoon in Dorchester.
